NC State’s recent “Red means Go” campaign has really impressed me. It steps well outside of your traditional and usually boring college advertising run. Especially the two commercials. Local agency Luquire George Andrews is behind the effort. Really cool work.

With the help of ad agency Luguire George Andrews, NC State leaders selected New York-based director Sasha Levinson to help put their vision on film. A veteran commercial and music video director, Levinson’s portfolio includes work for Covergirl, Progress Energy and entertainers Mary J. Blige and Sean “Diddy” Combs.

P.J. King, the actor who appears in the commercials, is based out of Los Angeles, CA, and has a wealth of movies, television and theater experience. In addition, you’ll hear his voice on NC State’s new series of radio ads as well, scheduled to air on a number of regional sports radio stations.

Charlotteans Blake Edwards and Erin Fede won the YouTube Project:Direct short film contest today with their entry Perfecto!. For their efforts, they will be going to this year’s Sundance Film Festival where Perfecto! will be screened. A cash prize and a meeting with Sundance’s Director of Programming will also be awarded.

A group of Charlotteans, led by director Blake Edwards and screenwriter Erin Fede submitted a short film to Project:Direct, YouTube and Sundance’s short film competition. They found out last week that their submission, Perfecto! made the top ten. Now the entire world gets to vote on whose short film makes it to Sundance. So, if you’ve got Charlotte pride, you should get over to the Project:Direct website and vote for Perfecto!

Very cool little interactive Holiday Card from Studiobanks. They sent holiday cards and emails out with links to the a photo hunt style game where the goal is to pick out the 5 differences between two seemingly identicle photos. A great ime waster for those of you bored at work right now. They also had the game setup on a TV at their Holiday Party.

Carbon House has finished a redesign of their main site. It is super clean and easy to navigate. It is more or less a one page site without using flash, love this trend. They also have some cool new website designs up on their portfolio. Be sure to stop by and give them some love.

MODE Visual has done some great work and this is just another feather in their cap. You will be expected to maintain existing websites and applications as well as develop new projects from the ground up.

You will work closely with a creative interactive team consisting of engineers, architects, project managers, marketers and designers. Must be comfortable working as a team player.

• Excellent Graphic Designer!!!!
• Able to Produce highly creative website designs
• Able to convert design comps into standards compliant XHTML/CSS
• Proficient in Flash Design & Action Scripting
• Rich Media Experience
• Proficient with hand coding HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Able to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines

Able to interface with clients and be a team player
Excellent attention to detail
Eager to learn new programming techniques to which to construct
Minimum 5 years of interactive design experience.

Have experience with or willingness to learn:
